For the project crew and the restaurant owner, the project at Matty’s Bar Bistro in the Mornington Peninsula of Victoria State in August 2020 was a wonderful experience. Given its location in the center of Victoria State and the popularity of its menu and reasonable prices, the restaurant is frequently busy with customers. Due to the increasing number of customers and parking, the restaurant’s outside required repair and firm composition. There, our crew built an exposed aggregate concrete pathway that not only looked better but also held up better over time.
To draw in more customers, the restaurant’s exterior design was carefully thought out and executed. Similar to a polished piece of granite or marble, exposed aggregate concrete has the following characteristics: Its amazing beauty has been exposed by removing a bland, unimpressive surface. Decorative aggregate, either natural or synthetic, is what gives concrete its aesthetic appeal. Concrete is placed, and then the exterior “skin” of cement paste is removed to reveal coarse decorative aggregate, creating an exposed-aggregate surface.
For the majority of flatwork, an exposed aggregate finish is excellent due to its toughness and skid resistance.
